Pickup turns "I cannot post this" into "come and get it", which is the difference between an item you can sell and one you cannot.
What you set
Points. Where collection happens — your shop, your studio, sometimes a neutral spot. You can have more than one.
Hours. When you are actually there.
How long they have. 72 hours by default, from when you mark the order ready. You can set it from six hours to two weeks.
What you keep if they never come. 7% by default. Up to 20%, and a flat 20% for anything that spoils while it waits.
Why the buyer agrees before bidding
Not at checkout — before the bid. The time to discover an item cannot be posted is before somebody has won it.
That is also why the no-show terms are not a nasty surprise: they were on the screen when they bid.
Choosing your collect-by window
Short for anything perishable. Longer for a robust item, because a generous window costs you nothing and avoids a conversation.
Set what suits the object, not a round number.
Questions people ask
What if they are late?
Your call. Most sellers are flexible if asked beforehand; none are obliged.
Do I have to offer pickup on everything?
No. It is per listing.
Can I ask for ID at collection?
You can confirm they are the buyer. Nothing more than that.
What if they never come at all?
You keep the share you set and the rest is refunded. From the buyer's side.
Next: packing an order.
