How to create a Metzee account

A phone number and a six-digit code. Two minutes, and you only need it to bid.

You can watch any show without an account. You need one to bid, to chat, and to be told when a seller you follow goes live.

The steps

  1. Enter your phone number.
  2. A six-digit code is sent to it.
  3. Type it in. The code is valid for ten minutes and you get five attempts.

That is it. There is no password to forget.

If the code does not arrive

Check the number, including the country code. If it still has not come, there is a Send by SMS option — use it.

If neither works, start here.

Why a phone number

A bid is a promise to pay, and a promise from an account that cannot be traced is worth nothing to the seller who stopped to sell you the thing. The fuller answer.

What else is asked for

A delivery address, when you win something that is being posted. Payment details at checkout, handled by the payment provider.

Nothing else. If anything asks you for more in our name, it is not us.

Questions people ask

Can I use the same account to sell?

Yes. You just cannot bid on your own items.

Can I have two accounts?

One person, one account.

What if I change my phone number?

Moving an account to a new number is deliberately not self-service — if it were, anyone who could reach your handset could take the account. Ask us and we will move it. More on sign-in problems.

Is my number given to sellers?

No.
