A commission on each sale, charged to the seller. That is it.
Why say it so directly
Because a marketplace that is vague about this usually has a second revenue stream it would rather you did not think about — your data, a payment margin, paid placement dressed as a recommendation.
So, specifically:
We do not sell your data.
We do not take a cut of delivery you arrange yourself.
Paid placement is marked. A seller can pay to be seen more, and where that happens it is visible as what it is. It does not buy a better review or a higher position in a search for a specific thing.
Buying is free. You pay the winning bid and delivery, both shown before you commit.
The commission itself
A percentage of the sale, with GST charged on top of it rather than hidden inside, both shown as separate lines on the seller's monthly invoice.
We are not printing the rate here: it is a setting rather than a constant, it can differ by store, and a number in a blog post goes stale and then misleads somebody planning around it. A seller's own rate is on their fee screen.
What the commission pays for
The room, the video, holding the money, settling disputes, and the people who read reports. Sellers are paying for infrastructure and for trust, which is the expensive half.
Questions people ask
Is there a listing fee or a monthly fee?
No. Neither, and no charge for going live.
Do buyers pay a fee?
No — the bid and delivery, nothing else.
Do sellers pay to appear higher?
A boost exists and is visible as promotion. It does not alter reviews.
Does Metzee make money on delivery?
The seller sets delivery and pays the courier.
