Moving from cash sales to recorded ones
What changes when every sale leaves a trace, why that is mostly in the seller’s favour, and the one part that is genuinely harder.

Pricing is a conversation, not a decision
A starting price is something you say to the room. This is what each one says, and how the room answers.

The economics of selling live
Time per item is the whole calculation. It makes some stock obviously worth a show and quietly ruins the margin on the rest.

What happens to money inside Metzee
Holds, claims, and why a refund can only happen once. Including the bug that taught us to do it this way.

Every charge on Metzee, in one place
Every fee a buyer or seller can meet, what sets it off, and where it shows. The fixed ones are named exactly; the ones that are a setting say so.

Cash collected on delivery
You keep the cash, so the fee comes off your balance. Six conditions, and the ones that surprise people.

How much can a seller actually make?
No figures here, because any would be a lie. The arithmetic to do instead.

Does it cost anything to buy on Metzee?
Buying is free. You pay the price and the delivery, both shown first — and here are the two charges that do exist.

Do I need a bank account to sell?
Yes. It is how the money reaches you, and the name on it has to be yours.

Do sellers pay to appear higher?
They can pay for a Home slot, and it is labelled. They cannot pay to move in the lists.

Why does a big light box cost so much to send?
Because couriers charge for the space a parcel takes, not only its weight. The sum, and how to shrink it.

What is professional grading?
A third party judges condition, seals the item and puts a number on it. What that buys, and what it does not.

What is my balance?
Money from your sales, in three states. Which part you can actually withdraw, and why the rest is not it.

What is chargeable weight?
The weight a courier bills you for, which is not always the weight of the parcel.

Can I get a yearly summary for my accountant?
Yes — a financial-year block on your Finance screen, plus exports. What it has, and what it is not.

Why was tax deducted from my payout?
Right now, nothing has been. The figures on your Finance screen are estimates — here is what they mean.

How often am I paid?
Three schedules, and you choose. What moves a particular order into a later run.

Is there a minimum payout amount?
Yes. What happens to a balance below it, and the second threshold you may have set yourself.

Do I get the fee back if I refund the buyer?
On a full refund, yes — the order stops being a sale. On a partial, no, and that is the right answer.

Is commission charged on the delivery I collect?
No. The fee is worked out on the item price, with shipping excluded.

When is the commission taken?
At the sale, out of the proceeds. You are never billed for it, and here is where it shows.

I missed the collect-by time
What happens, what it costs, and whether it can still be extended.

Why is a light thing costing so much to post?
Because the box is what gets billed. The arithmetic, with an example.

My parcel went back to the seller
Why it happens, who pays for the second attempt, and how to get it sent again.
There is a show on right now.
Nothing to install — it runs in this browser.
