A bag has a shape and a history, and most mistakes here lose one or hide the other.
Posting it unstuffed
An empty bag folds under whatever is stacked on it, and a fold in leather can be permanent. Fill it until it holds its own shape. Packing bags.
Not mentioning a smell
Storage, smoke and damp travel with the bag and are the most common reason one comes back. It cannot be photographed, which is exactly why it has to be written.
Showing it propped into a shape it does not hold
If the bag will not stand on its own, show that it does not. A buyer discovers it in four seconds.
Not showing the corners
They wear first, they wear visibly, and a listing without them reads as a listing avoiding them.
Recolouring an edge before a sale
It changes how the bag ages and it must be declared. Doing it quietly the night before is the version that ends badly.
Claiming authenticity
Nobody settles it over a video call. Show what the bag carries, say where you bought it, and price an unverified bag as unverified.
Forgetting the dust bag and cards
If they exist, they are part of the sale. If they do not, say so.
The one that costs most
Not turning the lining out. Pen marks, tears and staining live there, and a buyer finds them in the first minute.
Questions people ask
Is corner wear repairable?
Sometimes, by a specialist, at a cost. Assume not when you price.
Should I clean before selling?
Lightly. Nothing that may strip or darken leather.
Can I sell a copy?
Not as the brand, and not implying it. Counterfeits policy.
