A team is how a store stops being one person packing at midnight. Metzee lets you hand out exactly as much as you mean to and no more.
Before anything: the four things only you can ever do
Whatever role you give someone, the owner alone can:
- withdraw money
- change the bank account
- delete or hand over the store
- make someone a Manager
Those are not permissions you can grant. They cannot be given away by accident, which is the point.
Where it lives
Seller → Team. It shows {used} of {limit} team places used, or Teams are switched off for now if the feature is off for your store. The default limit is fifteen people, and a pending invitation counts against it — Team is full means you need to remove someone or cancel an invitation.
1. Invite them
Invite someone, headed Invite to your team.
Two ways:
Find a Metzee account— search@username or phone number. They needA Metzee accountalready.Share a link—Share this invite link, for someone you will message on WhatsApp.Invite link ready, thenCopy.
Until they accept, they sit as Waiting to join, and you can cancel the invitation.
2. Choose what they do
What will they do? offers nine ready-made roles, each with the app's own description of it:
Manager—Runs the store day to day — everything except money and ownershipLive host—Goes live for the store and runs the auctionsShow producer—Lines up items and runs the show from a second phoneModerator—Keeps live chat friendlyCatalog—Adds items, photos, stories and videosPacker—Packs and ships ordersCustomer care—Answers buyers, handles returns and disputesFinance—Sees earnings, payouts and invoices — can’t withdrawAnalyst—Read-only reports
Start with the smallest one that covers the job. Packer for the person who packs. Moderator for the friend who watches the chat. You can widen it later in one tap; you cannot un-see what someone has already seen.
The two that need thinking about
Manage the team— lets them invite and remove people. They still cannot make a Manager.Run promotions— the hint says it plainly:Boosts, coupons and sale events — boosts spend store money. That is your balance.
Both can only be given by you, never passed on by a Manager.
3. Fine-tune it, if you need to
Fine-tune what they can do ({n}) opens the full list — seventeen permissions in seven groups: Store, Live, Orders, Customers, Growth, Money, Team. Each has a one-line hint saying what it actually covers.
Worth reading a few, because the names are shorter than the reality:
See orders→Orders, buyers’ delivery details and packing slips. That is your buyers' addresses.Go live for the store→Broadcast the store’s shows from their own phone.See earnings and payouts→Earnings, fees, payouts and invoices. Only the owner can withdraw or change the bank.
You can also build and save your own role with + New role, which is worth doing if you keep hand-tuning the same combination. Changing a saved role applies to everyone on it straight away — the screen warns you with Changes apply to the 1 person with this role straight away.
4. For temporary help, set an end date
Access ends — For temporary help — they lose access automatically.
Use it. A Weekend packer with an end date is a decision you make once; one without is a thing you have to remember to undo, and nobody remembers.
An expired member shows as Access ended, and you can extend them rather than re-inviting.
What they see
They get Working for {store} as {role}, and Switch store if they also have a store of their own. Their own store and yours stay completely separate — your money, orders and buyers are not visible from theirs.
In a live show, a host broadcasting for you appears as the store with their own name alongside, not as you. Buyers are never misled about who they are talking to.
One rule that catches people out
Someone on your team cannot bid or buy from your store. Not a restriction on them personally — a member bidding on the store they work for is shill bidding, with the reserve price and the other bids in front of them. If your packer also wants to buy from you, they cannot do both.
Removing someone
Take {name} off the crew, with Tap again to remove. They become a Former member and the activity log keeps what they did.
Questions people ask
Can they see my earnings?
Only with See earnings and payouts, which only you can grant, and even then they cannot withdraw or change the bank.
Can two people run a show together?
Yes — that is Live host plus Show producer, one in front of the camera and one driving the lineup from a second phone.
Does a team member need their own store?
No. They need a Metzee account. If they do have a store, they switch between the two.
How many people can I add?
Fifteen by default, counting pending invitations. The Metzee team can change that for a store.
What if they leave on bad terms?
Remove them; access ends immediately. The activity log keeps the record of what was done while they had it.
