What you need to watch a show

A browser, a connection and not much else. The specifics, with real numbers.

Metzee runs in a browser. There is nothing to install.

The connection

Live video needs a steady connection more than a fast one. A stable 2 Mbps will watch a show; an unstable 20 will stutter.

On mobile data it works; it uses data like any video. If you are rationing, join for the item you want rather than the whole hour.

The browser

A current Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Very old versions struggle with live video specifically — the rest of the site will be fine and the show will not.

The device

Anything from roughly the last five years. An older phone will watch happily; it may get warm, and heat is what makes a stream stutter on an old device rather than the processor itself.

What to allow

Sound, which browsers block by default on autoplay — tap once to unmute.

Notifications, if you intend to bid. A payment reminder you did not see is a win you lose.

What slows it down

Battery saver pausing a background tab. A VPN adding a detour. Fifteen other tabs. A download running.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account to watch?

No. Only to bid or chat.

Can I watch on a laptop?

Yes, and it is better for judging an item closely.

Is there an app?

Not yet — browser only, for now.

Why is my video stuttering?
