An honest account rather than a statement of intent.
What works
Your phone's text size. The app follows it rather than fixing its own, so larger system text makes the app larger. The text is too small
Browser zoom, on a laptop. The layout reflows rather than breaking.
It is a website, so your browser's own tools — reader mode, zoom, a screen reader — apply. There is no app shell in the way. Using Metzee on a laptop
Eleven Indian languages and English, including Urdu right to left with the layout flipped rather than the text pasted into a left-to-right design. Using Metzee in your own language
Dark throughout. One look, consistently — which helps some people and suits others badly, and there is no light mode.
What is awkward
A live show is video. There is no transcript and no captions, so what a host says is not available as text. That is the honest limit of the format, and it is the part of the product least usable without hearing. Can I watch a show after it has ended?
The chat moves fast during a busy show.
Bidding has a clock. An auction extends when a late bid lands, which gives more time than a fixed ending would — but it is still a timed interaction. The last ten seconds
What to do instead where the show is the barrier
Buy at fixed prices. A large part of what sells here is ordinary listings, with no clock and no video. Buy now, explained
Leave a pre-bid where a store allows it, and let the auction happen without you.
Ask the seller in writing. An enquiry gets you the measurement, the condition, the detail — in text, at your own pace, and a seller would far rather answer than take a return. How to ask a seller about an item, live
If something is unusable
Report it, with the screen and what you were using. This is the kind of problem that is invisible from the inside and obvious to the person meeting it. Reporting something broken
Specific beats general: "the bid amount is not announced when it changes" can be fixed; "it is hard with a screen reader" cannot.
What this page does not claim
It does not claim the app has been audited, or that it meets a standard. It describes what is there. Where that is not good enough, the useful thing is a specific report rather than a promise here.
More: the text is too small, using Metzee on a laptop, reporting something broken.
