Yes, on delivered orders. That is the condition — a rating belongs to a completed purchase, not to a show you watched or a seller you did not buy from.
When
After delivery. Until then there is nothing to rate, and the seller's own screen reflects it: All caught up — no delivered orders are waiting for a rating.
Sellers can ask — Ask after delivery, Ask for reviews — which is why you sometimes get a nudge. Ignoring it is fine.
What it affects
More than people realise, which is why it is worth doing honestly rather than generously.
The store's Customer rating is one of six measured standards. Metzee's target is 4★ and below about 3.5★ puts a store at risk — so a rating is not decoration, it is part of whether a store keeps selling.
Their public store page, where the next buyer reads it.
Rating by month, which the seller sees as a trend. A single bad month is visible to them.
What a seller can do about it
Reply publicly. Replies are public on your store page. — their answer sits under your review for every future buyer to read.
That cuts both ways and is worth knowing before you write: an unfair review with a calm, factual reply underneath it reads badly for the reviewer. A fair review with a defensive reply reads badly for the seller.
Report it, if they think it breaks the rules — Report this review, with What’s wrong with this review? (required). That is a narrow route, not a way to remove criticism. Can a review be removed?
What cannot go in one
The guidance is on the seller's side of the same system and applies in both directions: Be polite — never share phone numbers or payment details.
So: no phone numbers, no addresses, no payment details, no abuse, no threats, and nothing that would get a message removed if you typed it in a show chat.
Also pointless: a review about something the seller did not control. A courier that took nine days is not the seller's packing.
How to write a useful one
The reviews that help other buyers say what arrived, how it was packed, and how fast. Those are the three things nobody can tell from a listing.
"Exactly as described, well wrapped, posted next day" is worth more than five stars with no words. So is "lovely piece but the mark wasn't in the photos" — honest and specific, and it tells the next buyer something true.
If something went wrong
Sort it out before you review, not instead of it. A seller given the chance to fix something usually does, and a review written after a resolution is fairer than one written in annoyance.
A review is not the route to a refund. The order is. How to raise a problem
The low rating worth giving
An item not as described, badly packed, or dispatched late, where the seller would not put it right. That is what the rating is for, and withholding it to be kind leaves the next buyer with no warning.
