Everything else on this site can be damaged in transit. This is the category that can simply disappear, and the delivery choice has to answer that first.
The four options
Courier — with a tracked, signed-for service, and nothing on the outside saying what is inside. Your own delivery — excellent locally, and the only option where you watch it change hands. Pickup — genuinely useful here, and not a fallback. Buyer arranges — acceptable, but then the chain is theirs rather than yours.
What decides it
Value, not weight. The parcel is light and cheap to send, so the real question is what happens if it does not arrive. For anything of real value, use a service that covers it, keep the receipt, and photograph the packed parcel before it goes. Packing jewellery.
When collection is the honest answer
For a genuinely high-value piece, often. Some sellers offer pickup only on their top lots and courier on the rest, which is a sensible split.
Pickup terms are agreed before the buyer bids, and they carry a collect-by window — 72 hours unless you set otherwise. If it is not collected, the store keeps a share: 7% by default and 20% at most. Say the terms in the show as well as in the listing. How pickup works.
Combining wins
Several wins from one show travel together easily, each piece in its own pouch. Combining is on by default and you set what each later win adds.
Questions people ask
Should I insure the parcel?
For anything of real value, yes. The cost is small against the loss.
Can I write "fragile" on it?
Yes. Never write what is inside.
Is cash on delivery available?
Not on an auction win. It is a Buy Now option a store switches on, and never applies to something won in a show.
