Following a seller, and what that does

One tap, and it is the only reliable way to find a good store again.

Tap follow on the store. That is it — no list to manage, nothing to confirm.

What it does

You are told when they go live. The main thing. Shows are at fixed times and a show you did not know about is a show you missed.

You are told when they list.

They can message you — following is one of the connections that lets a store open a conversation. Can I message a buyer directly?

What it does not do

It does not tell the store anything about you beyond that you follow them. Not your address, not what you have bought.

It does not commit you to anything.

It does not change what you are shown beyond their notifications. There is no feed being tuned.

When to do it

The moment an order goes well. Not later — at the moment you open a parcel and it is what you hoped.

That is the only reliable record you will have of a good seller, and it costs one tap at the one moment you are certain. Trying to remember the name three months later is how people end up searching for a store they cannot find. How do I find a seller I bought from before?

Why it matters more here than elsewhere

Most of what sells on Metzee is one of a kind. You cannot search for the thing you want next week because it does not exist yet — the saree, the card, the cleared estate box.

So the way to buy well is to be in the room when the right store is selling, and following is how you get there.

Unfollowing

Same tap. Nobody is told.

If the notifications are too many, that is a settings problem rather than a reason to unfollow — you can turn down what reaches you. Notifications, explained

If you are not getting the alerts

Check your notifications are actually arriving. A reminder you never see is the commonest reason people miss shows they meant to attend, and it is usually a device setting rather than Metzee.

For sellers

Followers are the only asset that compounds. A follower comes back for free; a one-off buyer does not, and a store that goes quiet for three months starts its next show from a quieter room than it left.

That is the argument for a rhythm, and for ending every show having scheduled the next one. Do I have to go live on a schedule?

More: how do I find a seller again, how to find a seller you trust, how to find a show worth watching.
