The rules for hosts

Short list. Three of them get accounts suspended rather than warned.

A show is a public broadcast you are responsible for. The rules are mostly obvious; the three that matter are at the top.

The three that are serious

Do not bid on your own items, or arrange for anybody else to. The app refuses your own bid outright, and getting somebody else to do it is the same offence with extra steps. This is a suspension matter. Can a seller bid on their own items?

Do not move a sale off Metzee. No "pay me directly", no sending people elsewhere. It removes every protection for both sides.

Do not sell what cannot be sold. Counterfeits, anything on the prohibited list, anything needing a licence you do not hold — and being live does not change any of it. Prohibited items explained

What you say is part of the description

A claim made out loud in a show is a claim about the item, and a dispute is decided on what was claimed. "No chips" said on camera is as binding as "no chips" typed in a listing. What if the seller lied about the item?

So: enthusiasm yes, invented provenance no. A confident guess you cannot support is how an item sells high and comes back.

Content

Nothing you do not have the right to show — other people's music, other people's footage.

No harassment, hate, or other people's personal details, from you or in your chat. You are responsible for the room you are running. Keeping your chat civil

Nothing you would not want a stranger to see. It is a public broadcast.

The auction itself

You cannot end an item early to stop the price, and you cannot refuse the result afterwards. A reserve is the sanctioned way to protect a floor and it is set beforehand. Can I refuse to sell if the bidding ends too low?

You must sell to the highest bidder. Do I have to sell to the highest bidder?

Do not change a description mid-auction in a way that makes people's bids about a different object. If you find a flaw, say it and end the item. Changing a listing that is already up

What is allowed and people assume is not

Selling energetically. Pace, a sense that something is about to go — that is selling, not cheating.

Having a co-host, or somebody from your team running the chat. Buyers see who they are. What is a host?

Hosting in your own language. Can I sell in my own language?

Saying you do not know. Always better than guessing.

If something goes wrong mid-show

Say so and carry on. A connection drop, a mis-slide, a wrong price read out — the room is forgiving about mistakes handled openly and unforgiving about ones handled quietly. My stream keeps dropping
