Whoever is on camera running a show — talking, holding things up, taking the auctions.
In most stores that is the owner. In some it is somebody else, and that is a real arrangement rather than a workaround.
The role
A store can add people to its team, and one of the roles is called Live host — described in the app as a person who Goes live for the store and runs the auctions.
Someone with it can:
- Go live for the store, from their own phone
- Schedule shows
- Produce — run the lineup and the clock
- Moderate the chat
- Manage listings

What buyers see
The store's name and branding, with the person's own name alongside it, marked as part of the team. So you know who you are talking to without the store pretending to be a one-person operation it is not.
That honesty is the point. A viewer who thinks they are buying from the maker and later finds they were talking to staff feels sold to; a viewer who knew from the start does not.
Why a store would want one
Someone better on camera than the owner. Making a thing and selling a thing are different skills and they do not reliably live in the same person.
Cover. A store that only sells when one specific person is free sells less than one that does not.

Host versus seller
Worth keeping straight:
The seller is the store. It owns the items, sets the prices, takes the money, carries the ratings and answers for the order.
The host is whoever is speaking. They may be the seller or may be working for them.
So a question about an order goes to the store, not to the person who was on camera — even though, in most stores, those are the same person.
For a host, the thing that matters
You are the store while you are live. The room's impression of its honesty is yours to make or lose in an hour, and the fastest way to lose it is to answer a question about condition with a guess. "I do not know, let me look" costs nothing. How to go live
