When do I get paid?

After the item reaches the buyer, not when they pay — and the reason that is also what makes a first sale possible.

The buyer pays. The money comes to us. It is released to you after the item has reached them.

So a payout is not instant, and we would rather say so plainly than dress it up.

Why it works that way

Because of what you get in exchange.

A shop with no reviews is asking a stranger to go first. Most people will not. The hold is what makes them willing — the buyer is not gambling on you, they are covered, so your first sale to somebody who has never heard of you is possible at all.

That is not a favour we are doing ourselves. It is the thing that lets a new seller sell. The buyer's side of the same mechanism.

What arrives

The sale, minus the commission and its GST, minus anything you absorbed — delivery, a promotion, cash collected on delivery. The full list.

Your statement names every line. If a number in your bank is ever a mystery, that is a bug in the statement and we want to hear about it.

What slows a payout down

Three things, honestly:

  1. The item has not arrived yet. Mark orders dispatched promptly and add real tracking — it is the one part of the timeline you control.
  2. A name mismatch between your verified identity and your bank account. This is the most common failure and it fails every time until it is fixed.
  3. A dispute open on the order. It waits until that is resolved.

Your balance

Between a sale and a payout, money sits in your balance. Deductions can appear there days after a sale — a refund, an absorbed cost — which is why a balance can move when nothing obvious happened.

Questions people ask

How long does it take?

It starts when the item reaches the buyer, then runs on the payout cycle. The statement shows where any individual order is.

Why is my payout taking so long?

Usually the item has not been confirmed delivered, or the bank details do not match the verified name.

My payout failed — what now?

Almost always a name mismatch, a closed account or a wrong IFSC. Correct the details and it retries.

Can I get paid faster?

Dispatch promptly and add tracking. There is no way to skip the hold, and a marketplace that offered one would be moving the risk back onto buyers.

Can I change my bank account?

Yes, with re-verification. Do it when no payout is pending.

Why is my balance negative?

A refund after a payout, or an absorbed cost landing late. It settles against your next sales.

Do I need a bank account in my own name?

Yes. A payout account that cannot be proved to be yours is how money goes missing.
