The half hour after a show is worth more than most of the hour before it.
1. Schedule the next one
While people are still in the room. A show that ends with a date is a show people set a reminder for; one that ends with "see you soon" is one they forget.
The recap page shows your next show to anyone who arrives late. How to schedule a show
2. Answer the chat
It stays open for an hour after you stop broadcasting. The questions that arrive then are from people deciding — and they are the cheapest sales you will make all evening.
3. Check what sold, and what did not
The recap lists both. Unsold items cost nothing to run again, and go in the next show. What happens to items that do not sell?
4. Check your capacity against what you sold
If the night went well, turn capacity down before the orders outrun your evenings. Doing it now is easier than digging out later. I got far more orders than expected
5. Start packing tonight if you can
Not all of it — the first few. It breaks the back of the job and it is the difference between posting on time and posting on day three. Your dispatch deadline
6. Message anybody whose order needs a word
Something out of stock, something that needs a question answered before you post. Tonight, while you remember.
7. Look at two numbers, not the viewer count
Sell-through — the share of what you put up that sold. The number that tells you whether the show worked. What is sell-through?
New followers — the only thing that compounds. A follower comes back for free.
Viewers measure the announcement. These two measure the show. Where do I see how my show did?
8. Write down one thing to change
One. Not five. The lineup order, the start prices, the hour, the opening two minutes. Change it next time and compare.
What not to do
Do not relist everything at once while the room is still warm — spread it.
Do not mark things shipped before they are. It buys a day and costs a dispute. How to mark an order shipped
Do not book a boost to fix a show that did not sell. A boost multiplies what the show already was. Do sellers pay to appear higher?
