Buying is free. No membership, no fee to bid, no charge for watching, no commission taken from you.
You pay the winning price and the delivery, and both are shown before you commit.
What you pay
The price. The winning bid, or the fixed price.
Delivery, shown at checkout before you pay. Pickup usually costs nothing at all. How delivery is charged
Tax is already in the price. Prices include GST where the seller charges it, so nothing is added at the end. Do the prices include tax?
That is the whole bill.
The two charges that do exist
Both are avoidable and neither is a fee for using Metzee.
A no-show fee on pickup. If you choose collection and never come, the store can charge a percentage of the order. You are told the terms at checkout and reminded before the deadline. What does "collect by" mean?
A weight correction — but that one lands on the seller, not you. Worth knowing so you do not expect a surprise bill: nothing is charged to you after checkout.
What is not a charge but costs you
An unpaid win. No money is taken, but the win is cancelled and it counts as a strike. Three inside ninety days pauses your bidding. What is an unpaid win?
Where the money comes from
Metzee takes a commission from the seller on item sales, not from you. That is the business, and it is published rather than hidden. How we make money
Which also means nobody is paid to show you one store rather than another. Boosts buy a labelled slot on Home and nothing in the ordering. Do sellers pay to appear higher?
Metzee Credits are not money
They are promotional — earned, never bought, never cashed out, and they can pay for part of an item at checkout. If you have none, you are not missing a discount everyone else gets.
What you should never pay
Anything outside Metzee. A seller asking for a direct transfer has removed every protection, and it is against the rules. Refuse and report it. Is Metzee safe to buy from?
A fee to "release" an order. There is no such thing.
