Following is the single highest-value thing a buyer does here, and it is one tap. The part worth attention is the second half: making sure the notification actually reaches you.
1. Follow
From the store page, or from a show. The button becomes Following once it has taken.
Follow {name} to hear when new items drop. is the prompt, and that is literally what it does.
2. Make sure you will be told
This is the half that matters, because following a store and then missing every show is the common outcome.
Three things to check:
- Metzee's notification permission in your phone's settings. If it was never granted, nothing arrives however many stores you follow.
- Your notification settings in the app, so show announcements are on.
- Open the app once in a while. There is no Android app to install yet — Metzee runs in your phone's browser — so notification behaviour depends on your browser's permissions. Do I need the app?
And know what will not reach you: email is not switched on yet, so nothing arrives that way. I am not getting emails.
3. Set a reminder on the show itself
Following tells you a store exists and is active. A reminder on a specific scheduled show is what gets you there at the right hour.
Both, for a store you actually care about. Following alone is a weak signal to yourself.
Why bother following at all
Three real reasons, in order:
The good items go in shows. A seller's best stock usually goes up live rather than sitting at a fixed price, because live is where it gets a better price. If you only browse listings you are seeing what did not sell live.
Followers-only discount codes. Some sellers make codes that only followers can use. That is a direct, concrete return on one tap.
You learn a seller's rhythm. Same night each week, same kind of stock. Knowing two or three sellers' schedules is most of what separates people who get good things here from people who scroll.
Who to follow
After you have bought from someone and it went well. That is the signal worth acting on — not a large follower count.
Three or four stores whose stock you actually want beats forty you cannot keep up with. How to find a seller you trust.
Unfollowing
Tap Following again. No message is sent, and the seller is not told.
Questions people ask
Does the seller know I followed them?
They see their follower count and new followers in their numbers. It is not presented as a list of names to them.
Will I get notifications for every item?
No — for shows and announcements, not for each listing. A store that posted forty listings would be unusable otherwise.
Can I follow without an account?
No. Following is tied to your account, which is what the notification goes to.
Do followers get better prices?
Only where the seller chooses to — a followers-only code. The auction itself is the same for everybody.
