Can I appeal a decision?

Yes, and each kind of decision has its own route. All four, with what helps.

Yes. There is a route for every decision Metzee makes about you, and they are different routes — using the wrong one costs you time rather than the appeal.

An item taken down

The notification you were sent opens a support request with the item already attached, under Listings & inventory. That is the appeal.

If you no longer have the notification, start a request under the same category and name the item. Why was my item taken down?

A strike

Strikes have their own screen, and from it you can ask for one to be removed. On the buyer side the unpaid-win message says so outright: If there was a reason, you can ask for it to be removed.

Two people can lift a strike — the store, or Metzee — and the screen shows which did. So asking the store first is often quicker than asking Metzee.

What to say: what happened, and when. A hospital week, a failed card, a wrong number — these are the reasons that get strikes removed, and they get removed more often than people expect. What happens if I do not pay for something I won

A review

A review removed by Metzee produces a Review removed notification. A report on a review ends in one of four states, each shown plainly: Reported — Metzee is reviewing it, Report reviewed — the review stays, Comment removed by Metzee, Review removed by Metzee.

If a report of yours was dismissed and you think wrongly, reply on it rather than filing a second one. Can I get a bad review removed?

A dispute

Reply on the case itself with what you think was missed, and ask for it to be looked at again — a second person reads it. A decision made without a photograph that was never sent is not a decision about your actual case. If you are not happy with our answer

What helps in every one of them

The order number, the dates, and what you expected. Those three.

Something new. An appeal that restates the first message gets the first answer. An appeal that adds the photograph, the courier receipt or the message thread is a different case.

Replying on the existing case rather than starting a new one. A fresh request resets the clock and nothing else — this is the single commonest way people slow their own appeal down.

What you can see while you wait

A support request carries its own state: Received, In progress, Waiting on you, On hold, then Resolved or Closed.

Waiting on you is the one to watch. It means nothing is moving until you reply, and it is where appeals go quiet.

Appealing is not a black mark

It is a route, not a complaint about a person, and using it does not count against your account.

More: how to raise an issue, how moderation works, who do I complain to about Metzee.
