Yes. Seller settings → Blocked buyers, described as People who can’t interact with your store. Use Block someone, enter their @username, confirm at Block @{username}?.
There is a Reason (only you see this) field — the placeholder is e.g. Didn’t pay for won auctions. Fill it in. In four months you will not remember why.
What a block stops
For your store specifically, a blocked person cannot:
- bid on your auctions
- buy from you
- message you or send an enquiry
- chat in your shows
They see This store isn’t accepting activity from your account.
What it does not do
It is not a ban from Metzee. They can still buy from every other store. Blocking is a door on your shop, not an exclusion from the market — and that is the right design, because one seller should not be able to remove someone from the platform.
It does not undo anything. Existing orders stand, open returns continue, and a dispute in progress is still decided on its merits.
It does not tell them why. They get a neutral message, not your reason.
When blocking is right
- Repeated unpaid wins against you specifically.
- Abuse in your chat, after or alongside reporting it.
- Somebody you simply cannot do business with. You are allowed to decline a customer.
When reporting is the better tool
Blocking protects you. Reporting protects everyone.
If the behaviour is something Metzee should know about — threats, fraud, abuse, attempts to take the deal off-platform — report it. Blocking alone means the next seller meets the same person with no warning. How to report a seller, how moderation works.
Do both where it warrants both. They are not alternatives.
What not to use it for
Blocking a buyer who opened a legitimate dispute. It does not stop the dispute, it looks exactly like what it is, and the record of it is read by whoever decides.
Blocking someone who outbid your friend. Bidding against people is the product.
Unblocking
Unblock, from the same screen, which shows Blocked ({n}) and the date. People change, and a block from two years ago over one unpaid win is worth a second look.
More: a buyer has not paid me, how moderation works, what Metzee will not do.
