No. Every item is owned by the store selling it. Metzee owns no stock, holds no warehouse and sells nothing of its own.
The terms say it plainly: items are sold by independent sellers, not by Metzee.
What Metzee is, then
A place where that selling happens, and the machinery around it. The live video, the auction clock, the payment, the dispute process, the payouts.
Metzee takes the buyer's money on the seller's behalf, holds it until the item arrives, and takes a commission on the sale. That is the business. How we make money
Why this matters to you
The seller is responsible for the item. Its description, its condition, posting it on time, and the tax and invoice for the sale. If it is wrong, they are the first person to ask.
Metzee is responsible for the process. The money being held, the dispute being heard, the decision being made on the evidence.
So a problem has two routes and they are not interchangeable: message the store first, and raise it with Metzee when the store will not put it right. How to raise an issue
The honest limit
Metzee is an intermediary rather than the seller, and the terms limit its liability for any claim to the fees it earned from the order concerned.
That is not a reason to expect nothing — buyer protection is real, the money is genuinely held, and a dispute is genuinely decided. It is the published position, and knowing it beforehand beats discovering it in a reply. How buyer protection works
What it means for what is on sale
The range is whatever independent sellers bring, which is why it looks nothing like a catalogue — sarees next to sneakers next to coins. Nobody chose a buying mix.
It also means quality varies by store rather than being uniform, and the ratings exist for exactly that reason. How to find a seller you trust
One thing people assume
That Metzee inspects stock. It does not — nothing passes through Metzee's hands. Does Metzee check every item before it sells?
