A second sale to somebody who already trusts you costs nothing to win. A first sale to a stranger costs everything you have.
So the question worth asking after every order is not "how do I find more buyers" but "why would this one come back".
What produces a regular
The item matched the description. Everything else is decoration if this fails. A described flaw costs you nothing; a discovered one costs the sale, the postage and the relationship. How to write a condition description
It arrived sooner than promised. Set your dispatch time to a bad week and then beat it. Your dispatch deadline
It was packed with care. Not expensively — considered. How to pack an order
There was a note. Thirty seconds, and it is mentioned in reviews more than anything you could buy. Should I put a note in the parcel?
You answered quickly when something needed answering.
The one that is counter-intuitive
A problem handled well. A buyer whose broken item was replaced without an argument comes back more reliably than one whose order was merely fine.
You cannot plan those. You can only be the kind of store that earns them — which means answering fast, not arguing about a 7-day window, and offering the choice rather than the minimum. It arrived broken
How to make coming back possible
Be followable at the right moment. The tap happens when they open the parcel and are pleased, or not at all. Following a seller, and what that does
Have a schedule they can return to. Do I have to go live on a schedule?
Keep listing. A store that is empty between shows has nothing for a returning buyer to find. Live show items vs always-on listings
What not to do
Do not chase for reviews. One mention in the parcel at most. Asking for a specific rating produces worse reviews than silence. How do I get buyers to leave reviews?
Do not message people who have not dealt with you. You cannot, and it is right that you cannot.
Do not take it off Metzee for the second sale. It removes the protections that made the first one safe, and it is against the rules.
The number to watch
Repeat buyers, even one. Somebody choosing you twice says more about your store than ten strangers choosing you once — and at low volume it is the earliest honest signal you will get. What does a realistic first month look like?
