No. A win has a payment window — thirty minutes if you were watching, twelve hours if it ended while you were away — and there is no way to extend it.
Why not
Because the item is held for you the whole time, and the under-bidder who would have bought it is waiting. "Later" for you is "indefinitely" for them and for the seller.
What is not an option
- Paying after the window. There is no button. The win has gone to the under-bidder.
- Asking the seller to hold it. They cannot — the window is enforced by the app, not by the seller's goodwill.
- Cash on delivery. It exists on Metzee, but only as something a store switches on for its buy-now listings — never on an auction win, a live-show item, an offer or a custom order. So it is not a way to delay paying for something you bid on.
- EMI. Not offered.
What is an option
Metzee Credits, if you have any, count toward the payment at checkout.
Deciding before you bid. This is the real answer. A bid is binding — the screen says Every bid is binding before your first one — so the question "can I pay for this in the next half hour" belongs before the bid, not after the win.
Bidding only up to what is in your account now. Not what will be there on Friday.
If you genuinely cannot pay
Let it lapse and take the strike. It is one strike. Three strikes inside ninety days is the threshold, and they age out.
Then message the seller and ask whether they will relist it. Many will. That is a slower and more honest route than a win you cannot complete.
If the money is there and the payment will not go through
Different problem entirely, and it does get sorted. Payment failed.
