Getting someone to help run your store

Add them to your team with a role. Never share your login — and the money never moves.

Add them to your team. They get a role of their own rather than your password, and buyers see them as part of your store rather than as you.

Why not just share the login

Because your login is your bank account, your phone number and your identity. Sharing it means sharing all three, and there is no way to take back half of it.

A team member can be removed. A shared password has already been shared.

What a role can cover

The real jobs: going live, scheduling shows, running the lineup, moderating chat, managing listings, handling orders, answering buyers.

So two people can genuinely split a store — one makes and packs, the other hosts and answers. Can two of us run one store?

What no role covers

The money. Payouts, bank details and the balance stay with the owner, and there is no role that hands them over.

Be glad about that. The single most damaging thing that can happen to a small store is somebody else reaching its payouts.

What buyers see

Your store's name and branding, with the person's own name alongside it, marked as part of the team. Honest by design — a buyer who thinks they are talking to the maker and later finds otherwise feels sold to. What is a host?

Who to add

Someone better on camera than you, if that is the gap. Making a thing and selling a thing are different skills and rarely live in the same person.

Someone who can cover, so the store does not stop when you are busy.

Someone who speaks the language your buyers speak. Can I sell in my own language?

Before you add anyone

Agree what they are responsible for. The role sets what they can do, not what they will do.

Agree how they are paid, between you. Metzee pays the owner; anything beyond that is your arrangement.

Start with a narrow role. Widen it later. It is easier than the reverse.

When somebody leaves

Remove them. Their place is given up and you are told; the store, the listings, the ratings and the money are unaffected because none of those were ever theirs. How to add someone to your team

If they should really own it

If the store is genuinely theirs — their stock, their money — then it should be in their name, with their bank account and their tax identity. Can I sell on behalf of somebody else?

More: can two of us run one store, how to add someone to your team, can someone else talk during my show.
