How to download an invoice, step by step

Two taps from the order, and what to do if a detail on it is wrong.

Every paid order has an invoice, and you can get it yourself without asking anybody.

Where it is

Activity → Purchases → open the order → Invoice.

The order page also has Receipt, which is the simpler payment record. Both open as printable documents.

The difference between the two

  • Invoice — the tax document for the sale. This is the one an accountant or an employer wants.
  • Receipt — proof that you paid. Enough for a reimbursement claim; not a tax document.

If you are not sure which you need, take the invoice.

What it carries

The seller's details, your details as given at checkout, the item, what you paid, the delivery charge, and the GST treatment of the sale. A seller without a GSTIN issues a Bill of Supply rather than a GST invoice — that is correct rather than an omission, and it reflects their registration, not the size of the sale.

If a detail is wrong

Your name or address. The invoice carries what was on the order when it was placed. Changing your profile afterwards does not rewrite it, and that is deliberate — a rewritten invoice is not an invoice. For a correction, message the seller.

The GST details, for a business purchase. If you needed the invoice in a company name, that had to be on the order. Ask the seller; whether they can reissue is their call and depends on when you ask.

The amount. If a refund has been issued, the invoice still shows the original sale, with the refund as a separate record. That is how it should look.

The link expires

The document opens through a short-lived signed link — about ten minutes. That is a security measure, not a problem: if it has expired, tap Invoice again and you get a fresh one.

So save the file rather than bookmarking the link.

For an old order

Same route, from History. Invoices stay available for past orders — there is no window after which you cannot get one. How to find something you bought months ago.

Questions people ask

Can I get one invoice covering several orders?

No. One invoice per order, because each is a separate sale by a separate seller.

Will one be emailed to me?

No — email is not switched on yet, so the order page is the place to get it. I am not getting emails.

Can it be reissued in my company name?

Ask the seller. Reissuing in a company name is possible for them and much easier shortly after the sale than months later.

Is a cash-on-delivery order invoiced?

Yes. It is a sale, and it has an invoice.

When does a refund show up?

The order shows it, and the app states the timing: Goes back the way you paid, usually within 5–7 working days. My refund has not arrived.
