Storing and caring for furniture and homeware
Wood moves with the weather. Stability matters more than any particular humidity.

Storing and caring for womenswear
Refold the worked pieces, hang the structured ones, and keep the beading away from the fabric.

Storing and caring for menswear
Wool wants air and a moth deterrent. Everything else wants a dry cupboard.

Storing and caring for electronics
Take the batteries out. That one sentence prevents most of what goes wrong.

Storing and caring for bags
Stuffed, breathing and out of plastic. A sealed bag in a monsoon grows mould on leather.

Storing and caring for collectibles
Name the material, and the storage answers itself.

Storing and caring for manga and figures
Spines fade on a bright shelf, and a boxed figure goes soft in a damp cupboard.

Storing and caring for minerals and crystals
Some fade in light, some dissolve in damp air, and most chip when they touch each other.

Storing and caring for handmade work
Each material fails its own way, and the finish usually goes before the object does.

Storing and caring for artwork
Flat or hung, never leaning, and never with plastic against the paint.

Storing and caring for antiques
Wood hates sudden changes more than it hates age. So does everything else old.

Storing and caring for film posters
Flat or loosely rolled, never taped, never laminated, and never in the light.

Storing and caring for cricket memorabilia
Bats dry out, shirts crease, and signatures fade. All three are storage decisions.

Storing and caring for sports memorabilia
Ink fades in light, fabric fails at folds, and a frame is not storage.

Storing and caring for sports cards
Upright, sleeved, dry. The same three words as any card, and the same monsoon.

Storing and caring for toys and collectibles
The box goes soft before the toy does, and sunlight yellows plastic for good.

Storing and caring for video games
Discs rot in heat and damp, cases crack in the cold, and cartridge batteries simply run out.

Storing and caring for records
Upright, never stacked, and never anywhere that gets hot. Vinyl remembers.

Storing and caring for books and films
Upright, not tight, off the floor, and away from the wall that gets the rain.

Storing and caring for sarees
Refold along different lines every few months. A fold left alone for years becomes a cut.

Storing and caring for comics
Bagged, boarded, upright, and nowhere near an outside wall.

Storing and caring for coins and notes
The holder can be the problem. PVC softens, off-gasses, and leaves a green film on the coin.

Storing and caring for trading cards
Humidity sticks a card to its sleeve. Heat curves it. Both happen quietly.

Storing and caring for jewellery and watches
Silver tarnishes faster near rubber and newsprint. Watches prefer being worn.
There is a show on right now.
